Christian Szegedy
Former co-founder of xAI, discoverer of adversarial examples
PhD in Math. As a research scientist in Cadence Research Labs, he designed mathematical optimization methods for he physical design of computer chips from 2005-2010. He joined Google in 2010, where he worked on ML/AI since 2011: He architected/trained he inception networks computer vision which was used in most Google products requiring image understanding. Co-inventor of DeepPose, SSD (single-shot multibox detector) and batch normalization. From 2016-2023, he has lead a research team at Google Research on deep-learning-based reasoning while inventing foundational technologies like hierarchical and memorizing transformers. In 2023, he was in the founding team of xAI, where later he focused on data-generation and reinforcement learning for coding.
