CVP, Head of Product, Microsoft AI Platform

Asha Sharma is Corporate Vice President, leading product development for Microsoft’s AI Platform. In this role, she oversees the teams and technologies that power AI across Microsoft and its enterprise customers—spanning critical infrastructure, foundation models, and end-to-end toolchains for building, managing, and deploying AI and agentic applications. Her portfolio includes Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, Responsible AI, AI Search, customizable APIs and Azure AI Services. She also leads Applied Engineering, Computational Engineering and Growth for Microsoft’s Core AI division. Prior to joining Microsoft, Sharma served as Chief Operating Officer of Instacart, with full P&L responsibility overseeing product, design, data science, research, marketing, operations, customer support and new business initiatives. Earlier, as Vice President of Product at Meta, she oversaw Messenger, Instagram Direct, Messenger Kids, Remote Presence (calling and video) and company-wide platform services. Sharma serves on the boards of The Home Depot and Coupang. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
